From a lump of raw clay to ceramic - experience the entire process of preparing your clay, shaping it with your hands using basic tools and the manual wheel, trimming to perfection, and adding colour through glazing.
This 10-session class will touch on the basics of getting to know clay as a material, and learning to use your hands to make and shape pieces including cups, mugs, bowls, plates, vases and boxes.
Expect to make between 6 - 10 pieces throughout the course.
Whether or not you have experience with pottery, this class will equip you with the basic knowledge of how to make your very own wares and kick start your journey into this traditional craft.
Basic Class Outline:
Class 1 - Pinching & Shaping (cup)
Class 2 - Pinching & Coiling (bowl)
Class 3 - Trimming foot on bowl & Coiling (small handled mug)
Class 4 - Glazing
Class 5 - Slab building marbled flatwares
Class 6 - Carving dishes with molds
Class 7 - Glazing
Class 8 - Self practise with guidance
Class 9 - Self practise with guidance
Class 10 - Glazing
Our workshops are beginner-friendly so all can join us!
Duration: 2.5 hours per session
(once every week for 10 weeks, or you may choose to come for more than 1 session per week)
Additional Charges: You will be able to bring home any other additional pieces made at $15 per item.

Things to take note of:
All items will be fired and ready to collect 4 to 12 weeks after the session. Please feel free to enquire on expedited firings.
Prep yourself before your class by keeping nails trimmed and short, have a hair tie (for those with long hair) and wear something comfy that you wouldn't mind getting a little dirty!
