Matcha tastes better in handmade wares - especially when you make them yourself.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll craft a matcha set on the electric wheel: two cups, a pourer, and a snack plate. Perfect for tea lovers who want to slow down and enjoy matcha the way it’s meant to be.
You'll be making a 4-piece set consisting of a standard sized pourer, 2 sharing cups and one snack plate(width between 15-20cm)
Choose from our range of 12 house glazes to finish your sets!
Duration: 1.5-2 hours
What You Can Bring Home: a set of 4 fired vessels
Additional Charges: You will be able to bring home any other additional pieces made at $15 per item.
After-Firing Notes:
Each piece goes through many changes in the kiln, and the final result may look quite different from how it appeared during the workshop. Clay matures, glazes flow, and forms shift subtly (or sometimes quite noticeably) at high temperatures. Small cracks, gentle warping, or variations in colour and texture are all part of the natural character of handmade pottery.
Our team carefully cleans up each piece through trimming, sponging, and sanding to ensure it’s durable and ready for use. These steps can slightly alter the original shape, but we avoid remaking works whenever possible, as each form carries the maker’s unique hand and expression.
In some cases, however, certain pieces may not withstand the firing process - for instance, plates or forms with wide bases can sometimes develop cracks that are difficult to save. When this happens, we’ll recreate a simple replacement piece so that you still receive a functional item, though the exact shape may differ from your original.
We hope this process deepens your appreciation for the unpredictability and beauty of clay, and inspires you to continue exploring pottery with us.
Things to take note of:
- All items will be fired and ready to collect 8 to 12 weeks after the session. Please feel free to enquire on expedited firings.
- Fired items will be delivered to you via Ninjavan / SingPost at no additional cost; or GrabExpress delivery at a token fee of $10 per address. We currently are not open for collection due to our small space and inability to keep uncollected works.
- Prep yourself before your class by keeping nails trimmed and short, have a hair tie (for those with long hair) and wear something comfy that you wouldn't mind getting a little dirty!
- All bookings are final — no refunds or cancellations, but may transfer the slot to a friend!
