Variations in form, color, and texture are part of the process.
  • You may notice subtle marks, glaze crackles, or slight asymmetry - these are not flaws but signs of a piece made without haste.
  • Some glazes will continue to evolve over time, especially with regular use.
  • To care for your piece, we recommend gentle hand washing.
Avoid exposing it to drastic temperature changes.
  • These are dishwasher safe, however is not recommended.

About the Maker
Based in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world — Ah Shu and Jin Laoshi have been working side by side since 2015, quietly refining their craft.

Jin Laoshi was trained under Professor Bi Guang of the High Research Class at the China Central Academy of Painting. His background in painting carries through in his approach to ceramics - each glaze and firing guided by an artist’s eye and a deep respect for material.

Together, they specialise in high-fired reduction wares, all thrown, trimmed, and glazed entirely by hand. Each piece is fired twice - first to 800°C, then again to 1320°C where a single glaze transforms into a spectrum of colour through the alchemy of kiln transmutation (窑变釉).

Their works move between teawares, daily-use vessels, and decorative pieces - objects that balance quiet utility with a painterly richness of tone.

While deeply rooted in traditional Jingdezhen techniques, their practice continues to seek new forms and textures that feel alive in the present day.

Every firing holds a little uncertainty, a little magic - one colour into the kiln, ten thousand colours out.
