*Schedule is flexible wherein you may pick and choose which days to come each week.
Studio Hours:
Thursdays & Fridays - Evenings 7pm to 9.30pm
Saturdays - 9.30am to 12pm, 12.30pm to 3pm
This 5-session course introduces wheel throwing through the making of everyday tableware.
From preparing clay to finishing glazed pieces, students experience the full ceramic process while creating wares designed to be used, shared, and lived with at home.
Rather than focusing on technique in isolation, the course centres on understanding how form, proportion, and touch come together - how a cup sits in the hand, how a bowl holds food, and how objects become part of daily rituals.
Designed for complete beginners or those returning to clay, this course offers a gentle and thoughtful entry into wheel throwing.
What you’ll experience
- Preparing and centering clay on the wheel
- Throwing simple functional forms such as cups and small bowls
- Trimming and refining shapes once the clay has set
- Adding handles, subtle textures, and slip decoration
- Glazing and finishing pieces for everyday use

Students typically complete between 6-10 functional tableware pieces depending on individual pace (e.g. 2 cups/mugs, 2 bowls, 2 plates)
