Studio Hours:
Thursdays & Fridays - Evenings 7pm to 9.30pm
Saturdays - 9.30am to 12pm, 12.30pm to 3pm

This 10-session course builds upon the fundamentals of wheel throwing, allowing students to slow down and develop confidence through repetition, refinement, and making.

With more time on the wheel, students begin to understand the relationship between different tableware forms - from cups and bowls to mugs and pouring vessels, and how small adjustments in proportion and thickness affect both function and feel.

The course remains beginner-friendly, and is suitable for those continuing from the 5-session Tableware Course, as well as beginners who prefer a more gradual and in-depth introduction.

What you’ll experience

  • Deepening familiarity with centering and wheel control
  • Shaping consistent functional forms through repeated making
  • Learning when and how to trim to refine balance and proportion
  • Exploring practical considerations such as rims, handles, and spouts
  • Finishing and glazing pieces for daily use

What you’ll make
Students typically complete 8–15 functional tableware pieces, including cups, bowls, mugs, plates and pouring forms.
